What areas do you serve?
We are based in the Tucson area and work throughout Arizona. Most of our work is in the Tucson metro and Pima County, and we regularly take commercial work in the Phoenix metro. If you are outside those areas, call us anyway and we will tell you honestly whether it makes sense for both of us.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Hoffmann Underground, LLC holds Arizona license C-2 351114.
Do you work for general contractors, or directly for property owners?
Both. Most of our work comes through general contractors and developers who need a dependable excavation subcontractor on their site package. We also work directly with property owners on residential and acreage jobs around Tucson — shop and barn pads, driveways, fence-line auger work, and utility runs.
What kinds of jobs do you take on?
General excavation and site preparation: utility trenching and backfilling, over-excavation and pad prep, footers, retention and drainage, grading, soil and debris removal, auger work, and demolition support.
Jobs range from a single residential pad up to full commercial site packages combining water, sewer, electrical trenching, footers, and retention on one scope. If you are not sure whether your job fits, ask.
How do I get a bid, and what do you need from me?
Send plans if you have them. If you do not, a description of the site and what you are trying to build is enough to get started.
The most useful things to include are the job location, the scope, your timeline, and anything you already know about site conditions — a soils report, a survey, or just "there is rock about two feet down."

Do you locate utilities before you dig?
Always. Utility location and hazard identification happen before the first cut, along with barriers, signage, and safety zones. It is the cheapest part of the job, and skipping it is how people get hurt and budgets get destroyed.
How do you handle safety on site?
Compliance with OSHA standards and consistent use of PPE, daily machine checks, and participation in whatever site safety briefings the general contractor runs.
Practically, it means the site is set up before machines move, our equipment does not become your delay, and we hand off a clean, organized site for the next trade.
Can you be added to our bid list for RFBs and RFPs?
Yes, and we would welcome it. Get in touch and tell us what documentation your procurement process requires — we will send it over.
